Dalton Residence

The project sought to make usage of a sub-division of a residential block with an existing house on the west side. The subdivision allowed for the addition of an extra house on the east block that made usage of creative spatial layouts and uses. The covered two car garage integrated into the structure of the building allows for first floor bedrooms to look out on the garden area, and the large open living plan connected to the garden by a large deck permits an easy indoor/outdoor living arrangement during the differing climate. The first floor slopes away from the boundary with the use of timber and corrugated steel to create a simple architectural form that reacts to the context whilst fashioning a comfortable liveable house that utilizes space creatively.
